Service and Tire Sales Manager

Auto-Pro Glass & Tire, a full-service glass, tire and automotive repair facility, seeks a welcoming and helpful Service and Tire Sales Manager to join our team in Houghton, Michigan.  The main priority of this position is exceptional customer service at all times which includes greeting customers as they enter our business, call on the phone or contact us electronically.  Often times you may the first or only contact a customer has with Auto-Pro and we want that to be first class every time.

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS. $15.00 – $25.00 per hour, based on your knowledge and experience, in addition to ongoing pay incentive opportunities. We offer a SIMPLE IRA, supplemental insurance, paid vacation, paid holidays and ample training.

 

WORK SCHEDULE. Monday through Friday 8am – 5pm and occasional Saturdays.

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL AS AN AUTO-PRO SERVICE & TIRE SALES MANAGER.

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Previous work experience in tire sales and service, parts management, or the automotive service industry desired, however, we will train the right individual who expresses a passion for our business and the work we do.
  • Through your interactions, you instill confidence and trust with our customers, vendors and staff.
  • A professional manner at all times with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Perform general office tasks (greet visitors/answer phones in a cheerful and helpful manner, schedule appointments, collect payment at time of service, handle traditional and online correspondence with accuracy, typing, proofreading, filing, copying, printing, organizing, ensure office space is neat, stocked and ready for each day, etc.)
  • Ability to handle client requests and complaints to satisfaction.
  • Proficiency with computers and basic office software, required.
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks, a bonus.
  • Possess a keen eye for detail, organization and accuracy.
  • Possess an impeccable attendance record, an exceptional work ethic and exemplary time management skills.
  • Able to work with little to no supervision and are a flexible, adaptable team player.

Research Engineer / Scientist

ThermoAnalytics, Inc., a leading provider of thermal and infrared simulation software and services, seeks a highly motivated and technically driven Research Engineer/Scientist to join our research team in Calumet, Michigan.  This position has a flexible start date between March – June of 2019.  If you have a strong interest in solving heat transfer-related engineering problems, we want to hear from you!

 

Responsibilities of the Research Engineer/Scientist.

  • Apply first principle physics to complex engineering problems and develop advanced numerical algorithms.
  • Provide specialized technical knowledge as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more subject area(s) critical to business needs (see technical areas below); provide SME guidance to staff as required
  • Write proposals (devising/communicating technical approaches, defining/estimating size & scope of work.)
  • Schedule, organize and report on status of research activities.
  • Plan and modify research techniques, procedures, tests, or software tools.
  • Interpret and analyze data as needed for research and engineering efforts.
  • Create/present technical materials for external customers, publication, presentation, at conferences, etc.
  • Assist software development team w/defining software requirements, acceptance tests, validation tests.

 

Compensation/Benefits. $85,000 – $125,000 annually, based on knowledge and experience, in addition to an extremely rich benefit package and employee stock ownership.  To conform to U.S. Government regulations, applicants must be United States citizens or lawful permanent residents of the United States. Final candidates may be required to undergo a thorough background check, credit check and/or drug screen.

 

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience of the Research Engineer/Scientist.

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace or Chemical Engineering, Physics, Math, Computer Science (or equivalent math/scientific field of study); Masters or PhD preferred.
  • Direct experience in one or more of these technical areas:
    • Heat Transfer (radiation, convection, conduction) and Thermal Analysis
    • Numerical Methods
    • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) methodologies
    • Battery modeling and testing
    • Human Physiology and Human Thermal Comfort (modeling and testing)
    • HVAC, humidity and moisture (modeling and testing)
    • Electro-Optic Sensor Modeling
  • Ability to problem solve technical and methodological issues using sound research techniques, methodology and logical critical analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and accurately with minimal supervision.
  • Experience designing, implementing, debugging, testing computer code (Matlab, C++, Python, etc.)
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with small teams in an agile software development environment.
  • Willingness to travel domestically/internationally when required (2-4 times/year)

 

Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience of the Research Engineer/Scientist.

  • Strong project management skills and experience.
  • Proposal or grant writing experience.
  • Experience working with software development teams.
  • Modeling and simulation background (e.g., meshing, physics-based modeling and simulation).

If you have a technical or sales background and a strong interest in developing business at existing and new accounts throughout North America, we want to hear from you! This is an entry level position that will follow-up on leads from our account managers and is mostly inside sales to start. The position can develop into outside sales as you become more experienced with our company and services.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TECHNICAL SALES ASSOCIATE.

 

Drives sales with account and lead follow up:

  • Follow-up and coordination of incoming requests by prospects and customers.
  • Identifies target accounts and finds decision makers.
  • Develop and maintain deep product knowledge to sell consultatively on solutions that best meet account needs.
  • Supports customers in their buying process and develops relationships to expand TAI’s influence within accounts.
  • Follow-up and travel to visit new and existing customers.
  • Meet total territory revenue targets set with management.
  • Collaborates with engineering, sales, and marketing team members on accounts.
  • Work with customers and engineering team to define project proposals and statements of work.
  • Supports marketing activities by participating in conferences and trade shows, and identifying interesting topics for marketing campaigns and materials.

 

Active participation with sales and marketing planning:

  • Prepare for and participate in team meetings and team planning.
  • Document and track sales activities.

 

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS.  $48,000 – $52,000 starting annual salary, based on your knowledge and industry experience, in addition to an extremely rich benefit package and employee stock ownership. This is a non-commissioned sales position working for a customer-driven company. To conform to U.S. Government regulations, applicants must be United States citizens or lawful permanent residents of the United States. Final candidates may be required to undergo a thorough background check, credit check and/or drug screen.

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED AS A THERMOANALYTICS TECHNICAL SALES ASSOCIATE.

As a growing CAE software company, this position demands excellent attention to detail, technical sales skills and product knowledge. In addition, this position has the following requirements:

  • Minimum of 1-year experience in sales preferred.
  • Experience selling technology to automotive, aeronautics, transportation, electronics or related industry design customers, government, or military contractors preferred.
  • CAE software sales preferred.
  • Coursework in Business Administration, Marketing and/or Scientific Field required; advanced degree in a Scientific Field preferred.
  • Exceptional relationship building, collaboration and communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills in the areas of CRM and Microsoft Office, required; HubSpot, a bonus.
  • A willingness and ability to travel domestically (10%), required.
